Comedian, Actor, Radio Host

Broderick Steven Harvey Class of 1974

Steve Harvey is a comedian, actor, entertainer and radio personality. Born in Welch, West Virginia on January 17, 1956, his family moved to Cleveland, Ohio when he was young. In the mid-1980s, Harvey began doing stand-up comedy. He was a finalist in the 2nd Annual Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search (1989), which led to his becoming host of "It's Showtime at the Apollo." Following that, he starred in "Me and the Boys" (ABC, 1994), "The Steve Harvey Show" (WB, 1996-2002), "The Kings of Comedy" (1997), "The Steve Harvey Morning Show" (WBLS 107.5FM, 2000-05), "Steve Harvey's Big Time Challenge" (WB, 2003-05) and more. Benny Friedman Class of 1925

Benjamin "Benny" Friedman (March 18, 1905 - November 24, 1984) probably graduated in either 1922-23. He was an American football quarterback who played for the University of Michigan (1924-1926), Cleveland Bulldogs (1927), Detroit Wolverines (1928), New York Giants (1929-1931), and Brooklyn Dodgers (1932-1934). He is generally considered the first great passer in pro football. In 2005, Friedman was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
